 Karmarlos Jackson is the Head Boys’ Basketball Coach here at Salem High School.

Coach Jackson’s love for athletic competition began in middle school where he played football, baseball, and basketball for Jefferson Davis and Conniston Middle Schools. He was a two-sport athlete at Forest Hill High School in West Palm Beach, FL. Coach Jackson’s athletic career continued into higher education as a team member and manager for the Santa Fe Community College Saints in Gainesville, FL.

Coach Jackson’s coaching career began as Head Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball coach for four years at North Broward Academy Charter in North Lauderdale, FL (2007-2011). He then served as Head JV/Varsity Assistant at Hollywood Christian Academy (2009-2010) and North Florida Christian School (2011-2012) respectively. Coach Jackson’s passion for coaching then took him to the state of Georgia. For the 2012-2014 seasons, he served as Head Boys’ basketball Coach at Sherwood Christian Academy in Albany, Ga. After relocating to Metro Atlanta, Coach Jackson served as Head JV/Varsity Girls’ Basketball Coach at Harvester Academy in Douglasville, GA (2014-2016). From 2017-2020, Coach Jackson served as the Head Boys’ Basketball Coach at Community Christian School in Stockbridge, GA.

Coach Jackson’s coaching philosophy and teaching philosophy are cyclical. He believes in teaching by progression. Each fundamental step leads to another step that builds upon the previous step. Coach Jackson received his bachelor’s degree from Troy University, his masters and specialist degrees from Liberty University, and is currently attending Columbus State University.
