Dr. Johnson PortraitDr. Brandi E. Johnson is a native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  She served as assistant principal at Fayette County High School for four years and Whitewater High School for one year prior to being named principal of Salem High School.  Before entering the field of education, Dr. Johnson worked as a Juvenile Probation/Parole Specialist in Dekalb County, GA.  She began her teaching career in Atlanta Public Schools where she served as an educator for ten years and held the positions of Science teacher, Advancement via Individual Determination (AVID) teacher, Instructional Coach and Head Softball Coach.

Dr. Johnson received her BA in Psychology from Spelman College and two master’s degrees from Georgia State University, in Urban Teacher Leadership and Educational Psychology.  In 2014, she earned her Doctorate of Education degree in Educational Leadership and Supervision from Clark Atlanta University.

Dr. Johnson is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and attends Fellowship of Love Church in Fayette County.  She is married to Gerard Johnson and has a stepson named Amari who is a recent graduate of Lakeside High School, an 11-year-old son named Nathan “King”, and a three-year-old daughter named Skye.  Her favorite quote is, “Whatever you do, strive to do it so well that no man living and no man dead and no man yet to be born could do it any better” (Dr. Benjamin E.
