What is Advanced Placement? Advanced Placement (AP) classes are college level courses designed by College Board in a variety of subjects that students may take while in high school. AP courses are taught by high school teachers and provide students with the opportunity to study in-depth at the collegiate level. *In order to earn college credit, students must take and score a 3 or higher on the AP exam.

 

Advanced Placement Opportunities in Fine Arts Salem offers the following courses: AP Music Theory: Structured to develop skills in written and aural music theory. It also provides understanding of elements and structure of music. AP Art & Design: Encourages students to engage in creative processes that involve critical thinking, artistic practice and problem-solving.
